Before dying
A nun's prayer

Ignatius Loyola, 1491-1556
Take O Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess.
Thou hast given all to me, to you O God I return them. All are yours.
Dispose of them all to your will.
Give me only thy love and thy grace, for this is enough for me.

Her story
The nun is bereft, sorrowing and crying, unable to get over the loss of her brain due to Alzheimer’s.
One day, praying with her sisters, she suddenly knew; her brain was not lost after all, her brain belonged to God, it was his. And now, she was at peace.

Sacred silence is the language of the soul, an inner space opening us into solitude, the home of our inner being. There we may receive the grace to perceive our sufferings with the texture of Divine Love. Dwelling in the silence, we wait for the presence of a loving light, a presence that allows us to break free from burdens into joy.
In spite of all the rich gifts offered on this website, gifts of joy, wisdom, peace, personified in poetry, prayer, music, one day these outer treasures will fade. At the end of life, a deepening desire may arise; to hear the wings of blessed silence, the internal whispers of the soul, the voice of the Beloved, ushering us into the Beyond.
Thank you for joining me on my journey.
