“All Will Be Well”

Theme:  Meditation/prayer

         Courteous God,

Be the foundation of my being.

May I sit in you in true rest,

Stand in you in sure strength,

And be rooted in you in endless love.

         Reveal yourself more to me

So that I may know my true nature better

And act as I truly am.

The Spiritual Canticle/ St. John of the Cross

Forever at his door

I gave my heart and soul.

My fortune too.

I've no flock any more,

No other work in view.

My occupation: love. It's all I do.

Surrender Novena, Fr. Dolindo Ruotolo

And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in my arms; I will let you find yourself,
Like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river.”

Jesus I surrender myself to you.
Take care of everything.”

Please read portions of this text to me:

Jesus is the Beloved of my heart.  His are the healing hands I long for.  He is the blessing in my soul, the center of my being when I am able to die to myself and rest in him.

    Calm, Peace, serenity

When the great nurse, death, takes us by the hand and quietly says, ‘It is time to go home.  Night is coming.  It is your bedtime, child of earth.  Come: you’re tired.  Lie down at last in the quiet nursery of nature and sleep.  Sleep well.  The day is gone.  Stars shine in the canopy of eternity.”  Joshua L. Liebman

The cloud weeps, and then the garden sprouts.
The baby cries, and the mother’s milk flows.
The nurse of creation has said, let them cry a lot.

This rain-weeping and sun-burning twine together to make us grow.

Keep your intelligence white-hot and your grief glistening, so your life will stay fresh.
Cry easily like a little child.

Jallaluddin Rumi (1207-73),
Persian poet

Merton Prayer

My Lord God,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.

And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,

though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though
I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Psalms and Book of Isaiah

“Come to me and I shall give you rest…my peace I give you, not as the world gives do I give to you.”  And:
ISA 55:12  “For you shall go out with joy and be led forth in peace…”

Ps 30:11 “You have turned for me my mourning into dancing.”

ISA 61:1-3 “…he has sent me to…give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness…”

ISA 35:10 “…they shall obtain joy and gladness and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

ISA 58:11  “and thou shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water whose waters fail not.”

Ps 27:1  “He is my light and my salvation, of whom shall I fear?”

Gayatri mantra

Om, Supreme Divine,

You are the creator of this universe, of Earth, space and heaven.

We adore You, oh supreme light, source of all creation.

We meditate upon your divine radiance.

Inspire all our thoughts,

Dispel our ignorance,

And illuminate our intelligence.

Om, peace, peace, peace.

Monk James Christian Song

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy

Hail, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.

    To Thee do we cry
Poor banished children of Eve
To Thee we do send up our sighs,

Mourning and weeping in This vale of Tears.

Turn then most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile,
Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb.

Jesus, O merciful, O loving, O sweet virgin
   Mary ! Amen.
